Thoughts?
I think I'm okay with this running its course and letting her skin adjust on its own. But some of the bumps on her chin are looking a little angry and I wondered if I was doing anything to aggravate it?
The only thing that works for my skin is tea tree oil and I am very anti-popping so since she was born I've just let my mama acne run its course, since tea tree in no-no for babies. I've thought about trying oil cleansing for me, since everything else I do makes it worse, but it doesn't seem like I can do that for her.
Do I even want to? Isn't it better for her skin to adjust on its own, as long as the acne isn't being exacerbated by any thing else like the oils from my hands as I touch her, the oils from my lips and face as I kiss her or the coconut oil I moisturize her with after her baths?
I would hate to give up kissing her face and since she gets so dirty with spit up and breastmilk on her face or little hairs or fuzzies, it would be difficult to keep from touching her from time to time. I could kill the coconut oil. It seems that baths are drying but maybe there is a better moisturizer?
What do you do? Notice anything that aggravates your LO's acne? Any pro tips? Dish, ladies!
Re: Baby Acne
Breast milk. It clears up LO's (and my) face. Weird, right?! It's kinda hard when there are a bunch of tiny bumps spread over an area, but I usually use it on the big, "angry" ones (as you called them), and they're gone within a day. No lie.
