Baby Showers

"Are you having a shower?"

Full disclosure: I overthink things a lot, so please feel free to smack some common sense into me here.

I'm 18w and people are starting to ask me if I am having a shower. I know I am being an idiot here, but this question always trips me up. Saying "no" sounds like I know for sure I'm not or that I don't want one; I can't say "yes" because no one has offered. Obviously, a sane person would just say "I'm not sure," but I am afraid that sounds like I am fishing for an an offer. Does it? Like I said, I overthink things.

You're over thinking it. There's nothing wrong with saying "Not that I know of."

    Thank you. I

  • I always just said "I don't know yet" because it was true.

It is weird when you announce your PG and the next thing people ask is about the shower. It's like "just give me a minute here". Maybe people think they are being polite by asking?

  • I don't think there's anything wrong with "I'm not sure". It only implies you don't know yet.
