Babies: 6 - 9 Months

I apologize if this is a silly question

My husband loves to do activites outdoors, especially hike. He is excited to take DD hiking this summer, which is totally fine with me. Would using a baby carrier (front) work fine or should we invest in a jogging stroller? I am afraid I will fall if I am wearing her! Sorry if this is a dumb question, I just wanted to hear your opinions. Thanks ladies!!

  • Depends the trails. We like the jogging stroller because honestly LO gets heavy quick in the carrier (and she's only 17th percentile lol). So I say wear her for some short walks and see how heavy she feels.

  • It is interesting that you asked this question since my DH and I are hikers, too. I have the same concern about tripping and falling while wearing baby. We do have a jogging stroller, but haven't taken it on any trails yet. Sorry I don't have any advice y

  • We hike with a Boba 3G (backcarry) and a Kelty hiking pack. Both are comfortable but we like to use the Kelty on more moderate/difficult trails. With flat trails we wear the Boba with no fear. The Kelty has a harness and is a hard frame, so if you were to

  • If wherever you are hiking Is smooth and flat enough for a stroller, I'd guess that the risk of falling would also be low. So, whatever you find easiest, I guess!

I would think that a carrier could be a lot easier esp on uneven terrain.

  • I prefer carrier after trying both options out.  Carrier allows me to nurse LO easier if a longer hike and easier to switch and take turns.  The stroller had a terrible time with the rugged path and log steps on the trails we frequent.  I t
  • Unless the path is paved or really well maintained gravel, the stroller won't work.  We have two carriers, though we haven't bought a structured one yet.  My husband prefers a Bjorn and I use a moby though the moby is harder as she gets heavier.
