Ergo infant insert

For my DD, I didn't use the ergo until she was old enough to use it without the insert.  I loved using it especially when traveling, and am looking forward to using it again with our next baby due in June.  I am imagining using the ergo when the baby is a lot younger this time around, especially since I will be chasing my 3 year old around, too.  Does anyone really recommend(or not recommend) the infant insert?

    We used the insert for #2 and really liked it.  Sometimes DS would sleep all snug and wrapped up in it without being in the ergo!  A lot of people will probably tell you that you can get away with putting rolled up blankets to substitute so it's

    I didn't like it. It was too much and didn't even support her floppy neck and head. Just kind of pointless.

    I liked the infant insert but it is toasty. I can't see where you live, but if it is warm in the summer, I wouldn't want the baby in the insert. So hot and sweaty!

    we used the infant insert in the beginning...it was ok, but we didn't love it. for the first few months i loved the k-tan and switched to the ergo when she was bigger.

    For the first month I used my moby wrap, hated it, ain't nobody got time for that.....

    So I bought an Ergo. By that time, DS2 was actually too big for it (yes, at one month he was over 13lbs). So I skipped it and just used a roll up receiving bla

    We loved the insert... But it is hot.. In fact that's one of the reasons we liked it... But She was a winter baby and loves to be ttoasty. 

     

    We used it until she was three months and then used the pillow without the 'wrap'
