DIY yogurt covered pretzels?

Has anyone made their own yogurt covered pretzels before?  I want to make them because M loves them but most are in the bulk bins and the cross contamination with peanut products scares me.  But the recipes I have seen online call for as much as 5c of powdered sugar and sound more like frosting than yogurt. Any suggestions would be great!

  • Without using the confectioner's sugar the process for getting a decent coating would be overly complicated, mostly trial and error, and probably no healthier. You may be better off going the chocolate route. The darker the chocolate the less sugar, and

  • I ended up just dipping them in plain Greek yogurt mixed with a dab of honey and vanilla and popping them in the freezer.  Let's see how these set up after a few hours.  It stinks that they will have to stay in the freezer this way, but it is

  • Would using some wax work?  I know when we make bon bons at Xmas, we use wax in the chocolate.  

    I don't know, I think your freezing idea sounds good.  Let us know how they turn out.
