Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Baby's development

My son is now 7month old turning 8 on 20th but he doesn't roll over, crawl, and sit by his own yet. He can't even sit straight when i sit him. I know each baby is different but i'm beginning to worry. Is this normal?

Re: Baby's development

  • I'd talk to the pedi and potentially get an eval done.

DS#1 got speech therapy, occupational therapy, nutrition and special education through early intervention.  Now, he is completely "typical" and doesn't receive services anymore.

  • My LO is 8 months can sit unassisted but has not rolled over yet not started crawling. We are not concerned right now but plan on talking to our ped about it at her 9 mo appt
  • Thank u all so much for replying. yes, i think it's better if i discuss the issue to his pedia : but thank u all for sharing your experiences. I'm relieved now.
  • I agree with all, talk to your pedi. Also, make sure that you are providing opportunities for your baby to practice such as tummy time and playing in a supported sitted position

  • Generally by 7 or 8 months, babies should be able to sit with support and roll from back to tummy.  If you've been doing plenty of tummy time with him, that should help strengthen his arms, neck and core to enable him to meet milestones. If not, that
