Anyone with carpal tunnel?

For the past few weeks I have been experiencing numbness in my left hand which leads to a dull ache/pain. After googling (yay, I'm not dying) it seems to fit the description of carpal tunnel. Just curious if anyone else has had a similar experience, since it did mention this is more common during pregnancy. TIA!

Re: Anyone with carpal tunnel?

  • Yes I have it but I've also had it for years and it came back since I've been pregnant. My whole right hand goes numb when I'm on the phone or while I'm sleeping. In fact my left wrist is sore right now and I saw my doc today who said its common in pregna

  • Have you tried a wrist brace? I'm looking into one, but wasn't sure if it would really help.

  • I only get this while I'm pregnant, so I'm guessing it's carpal tunnel - I will be asleep and wake up and my hand(s) will be that asleep tingling feeling.  I just have to open and close my fingers into a fist about 15 - 20 times to get the circulatio
  • I wouldn't diagnose myself based on Google, but yes, I've been having episodes of aching pain in my left hand, and numbness at times. It's definitely annoying, but it goes away, so I'm not too worried about it. I guess if it was more prolonged (i.e. ached

  • I've been having wrist pain that shoots up into my fingers, but it's on the ulnar side (pinky side) of my wrist, so it's not really classic carpal tunnel. However, I broke both of my wrists (at the same time!) when I was 21, so that along with the incr

  • I had it bad with DS. My middle two fingers on both hands were numb probably 80% of the time, and I had shooting pains in my wrists whenever I used my thumbs. I had the braces but they didn't help at all, not even when sleeping. For me, it didn't go away

  • Do you work in an office setting? I get ct in my right hand wrist arm etc and modified my office so it was more ergonomically fit. Def helped!

  • Thanks for the advice ladies! It's nice to know I'm in good company. As for my job, I am a music teacher, so I spend a good part of the day playing my guitar. I think I'm going to try a brace and see if that alleviates some discomfort. Hoping this will di

  • I have been denying to myself that I have it in my right hand for a while now, but with pregnancy, it is much more prevalant and is apparently rather common. I woke up this morning with my right hand and forearm all tingly and uncomfortable and a bit s

  • Not yet, but I had a terrible case with my last pregnancy. I think it started around 24 or 25 weeks last time. I never had any issues before I got pregnant.

Post-partum, I had to actually wear a wrist brace. I didn't know it at the time, but ca
