  Hi.  I am in a similar situation.  I have a 4 and 2 yo, and this pregnancy is a complete shock.  I am freaking out b/c I don't know how I am going to juggle 2 kids, a newborn, and my marriage.  I am going to do the NT test.  I did it with my last pregnancy.  It just put my mind at ease.  Also, I feel like if there is something wrong with the baby, I would want time to prepare for it.  Good luck with your pregnancy.

  This is my third baby and I'm due October 25th.  My older two are 6.5 (9/13/06) and 4.5 (8/8/08).  This one came as a shock and I'm excited but so much more worried than I was with the other two.  

  I'm currently trying to decide if I want to keep my April 17th NT appointment or just let it ride and hope for the best since I am such a worrier.  Any advice? 

  hi I'm 35, due with number three in October also. I did my NT scan mainly because it wasn't presented to me as optional...and it was fine Good luck

  Hi there,

   Sounds familiar!  I am also 35 and I have a 9 year old (02/10/04) and a soon to be 6 year old (07/02/2007).  I am preggo with #3 due on October 30th.  A little nervous about all the genetic testing talk the Dr is trying to push on me.  I am also a worrier, I think having testing will make me worry more rather than set my mind at ease.  Sounds kinda backwards I know...We are a very spiritual family and are putting our faith in our Creator rather than lab tests.  Blessings on your journey

  Congratulations on your pregnancy and welcome to the board! 35 is not that old--please don't let all of that ridiculous AMA talk get you riled up. Since you already have two healthy children, there is no reason to believe your third won't be equally perfect.
  

  Only you know what is right for you WRT testing. If testing is not going to put your mind at ease, skip it. Waiting for test results can be very nerve-racking. I did an NT scan and the MaterniT21 test. My OB's office made me wait for two full weeks for the MT21 results (despite the fact that they received them 9 days before I was told about them!), and that was horrible. However, when both tests came back clear, I was able to really relax and enjoy my pregnancy, so I don't regret doing them.

  Hi! I am also 35 and due with my third September 15, this baby was a big surprise and I am still finding it hard to believe! My oldest is 4.5 and my daughter is 2. I had the verifi test and the nt scan. I am a worrier and like to have reassurance. I live in Dubai ( but am from the US) and I am younger than a lot of my pregnant friends here so relax, we are so lucky to live in an age where it is both acceptable and safer to deliver in our 30s and 40s.

  I completely understand! I'll be 36 next week and expecting #3. Complete shock to find out. I have 2 DD,oldest is 8 and my little one is 5 so I thought I was done. Of course I have nothing anymore and have to start again from scratch but I'm tickled I get to be a mommy for the third time and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that there's a dingle dangle on my LO,3 girls might be the death of me!
