Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Evening Schedule??

Ok so I need some ideas. My dd is 4.5 months and our routine/schedule has worked fine up until about 2 weeks ago. Now in the evenings, she gets so fussy. I think I need to change up her naps and bedtime routine.
So....please tell me how your night goes from 3p until bedtime with your LO?

My example:
Between 3 and 4p she will have a feeding.
She will play and then fuss. She gets tired and goes for a nap around 5.
When she wakes up about an hour later, I change her put on pj and take her to the bedroom. I feed her and I have lullabye music playing. When she is done I turn off the music and turn off the lighs. I rock her for a few minutes and then lay her down. So between 7 and 8p she is put to bed.
But she gets so fussy throughout the evening and it makes it so hard for me. So I need to do something different.

Re: Evening Schedule??

  • How many times does she wake overnight? When does she wake in the morning? How many naps and how long are they during the day?

  • She wakes up around 6 and 7am.
She eats 5 to 6 bottles in 24 hours. I make 6oz bottles.
We have followed the easy method so she eats, plays then naps. And we repeat it all day.
When she is on her 4th bottle that's when things get diff
  • I think the general guideline is to do bedtime 12 hours from their usual morning wake-up time. If possible I would move up her afternoon nap closer to 3 or 4, and then do bedtime earlier around 6:30-7.

  • I have noticed she is on a 12 hr wake to bed schedule. But I think the problem is she doesn't have nap times yet. She follows the eat, play and sleep routine all day.

So I'm curious what is everyone's evening and bedtime like with LO?
  • It sounds like you may be putting her down for bed to close to when she wakes from last nap.  My DD takes a nap 4-4:30 or so since all her naps are short.  Bottle before this around 3-4 too. We bring her up at 7, dim lights, change diaper, put o
  • Our routine differs a bit every day because I make sure her wake times are no more than 1.5 to 2 hours (so her nap times depend on when she woke from the previous nap).  On the weekends, her last nap is usually around 3:30 or 4pm and lasts 30 minu

  • I love my evening routine (so far, lol).

I've started on solids so she gets that around 4pm.

I nurse her at 5pm. Then she gets a massage & change into jammies- she loves it!

If she's active I put her in the exersaucer or bring
