Window treatments?

I had wanted white plantation shutters for DS's nursery; I'm starting to reconsider based on cost and turnaround time.

what window treatments do you have in your nursery?  What are plantation shutter alternatives? I'm thinking roman shade or just white wood blinds...

thanks!

  • We already had wooden blinds installed in the widows, which make the room pretty dark when closed.  We shortened the pull cords so they can't be reached by small children and added valences to the top of the windows to coordinate with his bedding.

  • I have white shutters in the room that will become the nursery and I hate them. I'd LOVE to be able to have roman shades or curtains.
  • When my oldest was born I had installed plantation shutters throughout the house, including the nursery, and loved them. Personally I like the look and they were fantastic for keeping out the light and heat. When I had to move into my current rental home

  • I made a roman shade with blackout lining. There is only one window in DS's room.

It works very well and has a nice custom look.

  • That was my concern too.... so I made my husband by one (there are three windows in the room) to try it out.   It doesn't look bad at all - the folds stay even with the extra.   May be worth giving it a shot because the options fo
