Parenting after a Loss

Did you know how your LO was positioned before labor?

Just curious if anyone paid close attention to this or if I'm just overly paranoid. Besides just being head down, was anyone aware of how their baby is facing? I've been obsessively reading spinningbabies.com and other sources over the weekend, after figuring out this LO is probably partially face up. I don't think she's fully sunny side up. But esp. in comparing her movement to DD's movement it's clear she's turned differently and of course now I'm freaking out about a longer/tougher labor and/or a c-sec. Sigh. Induction is tomorrow morning if nothing before then (not holding my breath) and I"m trying to figure out what questions to ask for laboring positions, etc. Just curious if anyone has experience getting a sunny-side up or turned baby to get face down during labor and what worked? Thx. :)

  • I'm not sure you want to hear my answer, or maybe you do... haha.  I knew Raylan was partially face up because we had TONS of ultrasounds.

Good news: I had a natural labor (other than the induction meds) and he came out vaginally.  My l

  • LO rotated on me.  He was face down in his last u/s and moved to face up.  We had a lot of u/s, too.  I had almost entirely back labor.  It sucks.  My water also broke early, he didn't engage and the cord was wrapped around his

  • Thanks for your input ladies. Appreciate you sharing your stories. There was no doubt DD was face down in hindsight now that I've been reading more about this, so of course I've got myself all nervous for this one. I think I'd be a little less nervous if

  • I didn't know, but DD was breech until 35 weeks and I did alot of the exercises on that website to help her to turn. It's not too late! Especially if you can labor in various positions, I would say go for it... everything I've read suggests it's totally p

  • Hang in there.  Back labor sucks, but there are things that help.  Oddly enough, bouncing and rolling (while sitting) on a ball helped me the most.  I did that before I went to the hospital.  Rocking also helped me.  Back labor is

  • My last ultra sound was the week before LO was born and the tech said he was head down and face down. She said that was how he was suppose to be?? I ended up with a CS so I dont know if he was still that way while in labor..??

  • DS was sunny side up. The nurse the coached me through my labor had me leaning over and holding onto the rail on the wall with each contraction. It was the same motion as being on all fours , arching your back up and swaying your hips from side to side.
