Difficult age

This was a rough weekend.  Seemed like DS was always grouchy, took short naps, kept pointing at the TV to watch a Baby Einstein video and as soon as I'd start one he'd shake his head that that wasn't the one he wanted.  When we'd be in his room playing he would suddenly get irritated and just leave the room.  Also, he's become a nightmare during diaper changes.  He never wants to do them, won't lay down, then he starts kicking and hitting at me!  Luckily it was warm this weekend so we could go outside a lot and that helped, but oh man.... Also, he woke up from 1:30-4:30 last night.  Is this a difficult age for everyone or is DS just being a grouch?

  • Very difficult.  Lots of frustration on both sides I think.  B has NEVER liked diaper changes so I have been battling that for months.  I think some of it has to do with language development and communication.  For example, B can sa

  • I try to remember that there are times I don't want to do what I'm being asked or forced to do.  I just have the self-control to not throw a tantrum.  Our LOs just haven't learned that skill yet.  :)

Definitely a difficult age, but also a really rewarding one.  I'm trying to focus on the wonderful moments of watching her figure out something new and all the new communication she's capable of, rather than the tantrums and times when we're both

  • Yes, it is difficult on both sides. I think part of it is that DD has more independent thinking about what she wants to do, but isn't quite able to express is verbally to me which leads to frustration on both sides.I don't know what she wants to do and
