Cloth/Hybrid/Pocket diapers? What's your opinion?

We are expecting our first and have been told so much about diapers i think my head is going to explode. Based on what I've heard though, i've been leaning towards gDiapers/gNappies or Tots Bots (right now my #1 choice) instead of disposables. I like the idea of those kind versus the traditional cloth diapers.

Anyone else going through this kind of debate or anyone have kids and have suggestions/advice? Thanks!

  • Try the Cloth Diaper board, also check out the Obbs and Lala videos on You Tube, her channel is so informative about all things CD's. It helped me a ton when I first started researching.

We are doing a mix of AIO and pockets, mostly BG's, G

  • I have not heard good things about gdiapers, but I haven't used them. I use Flips when we need a hybrid option and they are awesome. One size to buy and they still fit my two year old well. We use pockets predominantly, and really like them for their ease

  • We used gDiapers for a while. It's nice to have that little insert to toss in the trash, especially while out and about. It's not so fun to carry around a poopy diaper until you get home to wash it :)

  • We use prefolds and covers for newbs. They are a PITA. They seem to fit the best on teeny bodies though, and LO isn't too wiggly yet. We use adjustable size pockets after about 1 mo.

  • Pockets, hands down. I've never tried g diapers but I know several moms who have and they aren't fans. Pockets require a bit of work after washing because you have to stuff the diapers. But you can also change the absorbancy and stuff extra inserts as nee

  • From all the research I've done, we're going to use the bumgenius 4.0s. Mind you, I have no experience with them yet, but have read all good things about them.

  • If we were in the US I'd probably be doing a diaper trial at the beginning to see what works best for us.  Since that's not possible for us we're going to do a mix of prefolds, fitteds, and Kawaii P&Ns at first to buy time to get a few different
  • I agree with PPs about trying several different brands and styles. We tried a lot of different things at the beginning (including gDiapers). It didn't take us long at all to figure out what we liked and what we didn't. That being said, for the newborn sta

  • I have a couple of AIOs for traveling. My stash is mainly pockets. I love them. I despise gDiapers. They are nice in you can use the disposable part, but they are not user friendly at all. They also did not wear well.
