Food Allergy

uggh~ reacts to Neocate

DD is 11 months old and I JUST figured out in the last 2 weeks that she reacts to her neocate (corn specifically) as well as wheat, oats, and rice.  She has other food intolerances but she has had serious congestion, runny nose, and when she breathes her chest rattles.  We have really had to work to get her to cough junk out.  Anyway, our chiro was sure she was reacting to something for all this time so she did kinesiology testing.  I stopped the things listed above (including switching her to almond milk from her neocate) and she cleared up in 48 hours!  I mean she was runny and congested since 2 weeks old and it is ALL GONE and has been for a week or two.  I wipe her nose only after she has been bawling.  She no longer rattles at all.

Sidenote, I have held off trialing dairy or soy even though the GI told me to trial them.  I feel like if she reacts to things as minor as rice and corn that dairy and soy won't be tolerated well either. With the kinesiology testing she did NOT react to dairy but the chiro wasn't surprised because she hasn't been exposed to dairy since she was 2 weeks old. Would you trial them or wait until when?

  • hey, thanks for thinking of us!

I feel like at this point she doesn't need dairy or soy or any of the other stuff so we might as well hold off.  Plus it keeps me away from processed foods for her so that is to her benefit.  I will let y
