I wish he could tell me what is wrong

Its probably just a phase or something, but I'm worried about DS. He slept til 1030 today. Hes been doing that the past few days. And waking up crying a couple times a night which is not normal. He's being a picky eater when he normally would eat anything. He's fussy and whiny and just not acting like his normal easy going self. He doesn't have a fever. He already has 10 teeth including two molars that didn't really bother him. So what is this? Growth spurt? Phase? I feel like I'm missing something.
