Question about dreaded 4 month wakeful

I'm dreading this 4 month wakeful that I read so many posts about! My DD was 5 weeks premature...so would I expect her 4 month wakeful to hit when she is 5 months?? I know developmentally we can expect her to be around 5 weeks behind but wasn't sure if it would also apply to the 4 month wakeful period.

  • I also wanted to add that I have 3 kids and NONE of them ever went through what they call a 4 month wakeful.  My first 2 children were born 3 weeks early (not twins).

  • This has nothing to do with original post, but my pediatrician claims that FF babies are less likely to have a 4 month wakeful period since they can still look around and get less distracted during the day and still eat well - not needing the extra waking
