Hospital with DS

DS has been running high fever since Monday with no other symptoms other than decreased appetite. We attributed it to a virus or flu. Went to the ER Wednesday night because fever was so high. For the most part fever has been easily supressed by tylenol or motrin. Dr at ER determined it to be viral as well.

Rewind to a week ago, last Saturday, DS swallowed a piece of a toy that broke. Likely a piece of metal from inside of it. No GI upset, no diarrhea, no constipation. So we assumed it had passed.

Fast forward back to today. DS is still no better. Strep and flu are negative. So now we have had blood drawn for tests and are waiting for xrays.

    Oh no : poor little guy. Sending lots of feel better thoughts his way. Hope it's nothing serious.

    Poor guy, I am so sorry.  Prayers he gets better soon and you find out what is causing him to be so sick.

    Xray showed severe impaction but no foreign bodies. He is packed with stool from the bottom of his rectum all the way to the top of his colon. I don't understand that because he has had more frequent bowel movements this week, solid, not diarrhea. But app

    Ugh. Poor kid : I can't believe they let him leave the hospital without treating his poo problem. No wonder the poor kid is cranky. When will they do the CT?

    That is just me assuming the next step based on my own experience in veterinary medicine. Believe me, human bodies animal sbodies are remarkably similar. I can't believe the doctor did not call me yesterday with the bloodwork results! Just because it is 5
