One & Done: Only child

One and done: older kids

I have been on another board that had a lot of people in the one and done camp early on but once we hit age 3 I was the only one left. For those that have older kids and are one and one what has been your biggest reason for staying in this camp?

  • You're not alone. My LO is also 3 and I'm OAD due to personal and circumstantial reasons. I feel that my family is complete with DD and I'm not a baby person at.all. I love having a preschooler though. GL with your decision!

  • I think I have one of the oldest here, my daughter turned 7 in March.

I stay because my husband had a vasectomy, haha. But seriously, I've never really wavered or had any baby urges. I find the older she gets, the more amazing it is with just one

  • Ella is 2.5 and I have not yet found myself changing my mind. DH feels more strongly about being oad than I do, so even if I were to change my mind it would be nearly impossible to talk him into it.

  • DS just turned 3. Everything is so much easier. A trip to the aquarium just means throwing a juice box and some snacks in my purse. We do a lot of camping and it gets easier each year. I love seeing the person my son is becoming. We haven't had a night aw

  • My DS turned 7 in January.

Our decision was made for us because of medical reasons but going into starting a family we were 98% sure we only wanted one anyway so it wasn't a huge deal.

  • Thanks ladies! I loved reading this. I love how "easy" life has gotten and I don't see myself going back. Glad I am not the only one. :)

  • My DD just turned 4, and we've been one and done since before we had her, haha :) We always knew we just wanted one, and medical circumstances would have kept me from having a second baby, anyway.

I love the stage we're at. We bought a house, DD

  • I formed a one and done playgroup when DD was about one. We had I think 14 members. By the time DD was 3 all had left and had other kids! I can say right now I love being one and done!

DD turns 4 next week. I love this age! We are really looking
