I was always kinda against it...not that I think it is bad or silly just not for me... Last night my DD woke up from a bad dream crying and screaming and ran in to our room. I took her back to her room and laid there with her for a while until she fell asleep, then she woke up again and I took her back again and didn't stay thinking she only came back in because I was gone when she woke back up. So the third time she came in our room she said "sleep in mommy daddys bed". I asked DH if he minded and we let her stay in the bed with us. There is a part of me that was like well you just messed up now it will start; the cry screaming tantrums that she wants to stay with us....and then I think about it and I don't know any reason why I wouldn't want to comfort her in any way necessary to keep her feeling safe and happy. Maybe is my AL brain but I think I'll go with it. Made me feel like a good mom. Just thought I'd share feel free to give me any opinions on how to safely do it too if she needs it again in the future. We just put her in the middle of us.
Re: Co sleeping
We never started out with our LO sleeping with us and he knows he sleeps in his own bed. Anytime he wakes up from a bad dream or anything we allow him to lay down with us. (but it doesn't happen that often at all) He always goes to his room and gets in
I don't think any bed-sharers went into the arrangement of bed sharing thinking "yay I can't wait to bed share, this is going to be awesome!!!"
but you take the needs of the child, and both of your needs for sleep, making the choice
