Baby proof/ pet friendly

We are just hitting the stage where we need to baby proof. We need to have a gate that allows our cats to pass through. One cat is a bit chunky....well, she's fat. Any recommendations?

We had a baby gate up as a trial run in LO's room and our cats just jump over it. One of our cats is extremely fat and lazy, so we actually thought it would keep her out... nope.

I think they sell gates with small animal doors so the cats can pass thru. Google it!

We have googled extensively but most reviews are not fat cat approved. Probably since the baby could pass too. Hoping someone has one that works. We have a wicked turn on our steps 100 yr old house, never code today but maybe I can somehow put a chair in
