Hi everyone,
As you might have seen in my post below, we were recently contact by an EM. We're not "officially" matched yet, but we've been exchanging emails and will probably have our first phone conversation very soon. So far things are going well, but I'm so nervous about that first call. I know all the advice about "just be yourself", etc., but what do I say?!? We've been scammed before, and I know I do have my defenses up a little, and I worry that my protecting my emotions will come off as "not excited/not interested", you know? We're not working with an agency so we don't have a social worker to ask for advice. Sorry for the rambling message, I'm not sure what I'm looking for, but any thoughts or advice are definitely welcome!!

If you're worried that you having your guard up might make her feel like you're not that excited/interested then just tell her just that. Let her know you had a bad experience and your excited but guarding your heart for now. i'm su
