Ideas for older kids activities at LO's first bday party?

Good morning - I am starting to plan LO's bday party...I know, two months away but we are crazy busy so I need to start now or I will never get it done!!

We are going to have several older children at our son's first birthday party.Our birthday party for him is also going to be combined into an open house for our new home as well, so having food, BBQ, family in town, lots of people, etc. Anyway, what are some fun activities or toys to have around for the older kiddos? There will be a few 2-4 year olds, and some 9-11 year olds. I was thinking having a slip and slide or small pool and water guns/toys...any other ideas?

I actually am planning my daughter's party and it's 3 months away! We live anywhere from 2 hours to 12 hours away from everyone on both sides of the family. We have to get invites out sooner so they can actually plan to get there.

Good ideas, though Pool or slip n slide might be a little stressful on the parentsa similar idea would be a water table and a sandbox...slightly more contained! But you know your friends best: have fun planning!
