Cake at Brunch?

Hi Ladies. I usually post on TK, but figured you know all about baby showers, and I sure as heck don't. I'm hosting one tomorrow, it is going to be a brunch and I have a good brunch menu planned, including muffins and cinnamon rolls as well as some savory dishes. Should I make a cake too? It seems like all parties should have cake, but since there will already be sweet baked things, maybe a cake is too much? Will people be expecting a cake? Because if they will be, then I'd like to make one. Maybe strawberry shortcake? Is that brunchy?

What's the difference between donuts or pancakes and regular cake. I say let them eat it! Yum!

I used to be an event coordinator and I've never been to a shower personally or professionally that didn't have a cake or cupcakes. There is always room for dessert! Have fun!
