DS number 2 will be arriving May 31 via c/s. We had decided on Isaac Joel for his name, but I can't seem to make myself refer to him as Isaac when I talk about/ to him. Joel is after my dad, so that's nonnegotiable. I mentioned my issues to DH and now he has reservations as well. We both like Isaac, but don't love it like we do DS 1's name. He was Samuel James from the moment we found out we were having a boy. We both like Benjamin better than Isaac, but my first cousin's name is Lloyd Benjamin, known as Ben. He was named after our grandfather Lloyd and our greatgrandfather Ben. My cousin is in the military and doesn't live near us anymore, so I don't know how much confusion it would truly cause if we were to use Ben as well. I know no one owns names, but I can't get over the thought that it might be too weird. What would the BNB do?
Re: Two months to go and having second thoughts
I would go with Benjamin, unless your first cousin is a negative association. Otherwise, you don't see him that often, so it wouldn't be that weird. And you could always use the full Benjamin for your little one if you're feeling weird abou

I think the cousin connection is distant enough -- both in terms of age and geography -- that you can safely use Benjamin.
Btw, I LOVE Benjamin Joel! Love it!
I love Benjamin Joel!
I actually had a dream last night that I named my son Benjamin.
(I don't know what i'm having yet.. hoping there is a girl and boy in there!)
