Mini cribs - yay or nay?

Has anyone used a mini crib, and if so, how long did it last (in terms of size)? I've heard some people say it lasted until they moved to a toddler or real bed, others say they outgrew it in a year.

While we have space for a normal crib, I'd love to have more room for playing, etc., so I was looking at this option. We have time to figure it out, but I'd like to have some sort of idea of what may or may not work.

I wouldn't get one. The ILs have one at their house for when DS and my niece stay with them, and I hate it. DS is constantly whacking himself on the sides. He's an active sleeper and there just isn't enough room for him to move around comfortably in it

Thanks! Seems like a standard is better for the long run. I don't want to have to buy another later on. My family is on the smaller side, but people in DH's family are tall. So, if this baby gets those genes, I think the mini crib could last about 2.5

My parents have one and my DD fits in it just fine. She is in the 75% for height so she is long and still has plenty of room. If she has her arms straight out at her side she can touch the side, but she does not sleep like that. Length w

We had the Da Vinci mini Kalani and it worked perfect. We lived in a one bedroom apartment and were very tight on space for the first 6 months. After that we got a bigger crib because we moved into a bigger house and had the space. My LO is 13 months now
