Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Walking

Dd is 12mos and she now stands for long periods of time and this week took4 steps on her own! Now she keeps trying to do it. Just wondered how long before she will walk. I know every kid is different but just wondered your experiences.

  • It took one month exactly from LO's first steps to him walking everywhere.  Everyone is different though.  I'd start babyproofing (again?) now!  And Congratulations, it's an exciting time.

  • Ya. She def is experimenting. I wouldn't say she is walking just yet. I guess I mean walking where you can put her down somewhere and she will walk as opposed to going on the ground and crawling.

  • It took about a month to go from first steps to full on walking, BUT he was only 8 months old when he took his first steps, so I think it took longer than average.
