Denied.

I just found out that we were denied getting Genome Sequencing covered from Blue Cross Blue Shield. I knew it was a possibility, but I really wasn't expecting it. I guess it is too experimental and not proven enough for the insurance company to cover it.

I feel like Grant is delayed enough and we have done every other test that this is one of the last things to do. His microarray showed a duplication, so I think that should be another reason why it should be approved.

Oh well. I'm just venting, but I'm open to suggestions. Also I updated Grant's blog on the g-tube surgery and added pictures.

Sorry about your insurance company is there anything your doctors can say to sway there decision?

Appeal, appeal, appeal. Call your patient advocate at the children's hospital or specialist office. Beg for their help, they can help you. Insurance sometimes counts on people not trying to appeal.
