Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

seperation anxiety

So DS has been hit with this seperation bug pretty big.  I leave the room now and he cries.  I am a SAHM so I thought maybe it would be even worse because he is with me all day but he seems to do it with DH as well like this morning when he left for work he cried.  For moms with older babies, how long did it last?  I know all children are different but just curious.  The next couple weekends we have lots of things coming up and will be leaving him with my mom, who he sees often, but I hope he does well with her.  Typically he is better once he doesn't see us anymore. TIA!

  • My DD has it pretty badly right now. I have noticed that it seems to get 1000x worse when she is teething. Then she just wants to be attached to me at a the hip. She seems to be better in the house now...I can go in the other room and it is fine. I think

  • Ours manifested itself from12-15 months and then again during this never ending winter sickness months. 

    After the first round of seperation anxiety, my normall outgoing child became slightly shy.

  • For us it was awful from 12.5-14.5 months.

  • My LO is 14 months old and we are dealing with it again. Like PP said, I think it is worse during teething.
