How do you know if LO is allergic

Total newbie question.. DD is 6m and we just started solids this week. We know she has some atopic tendencies mspi, eczema, seasonal allergies and I am totally jumpy about food sensitivities.

So we started slow, she had a go with a little avocado, waited a few days, then she had bananas and oatmeal yesterday. Today she's had diarrhea all day, and her bum is totally raw. Daycare just called to come get her.

Is it just a coincidental virus? Or something else? Wdyt?

    Thanks, I did call. They have this ridiculous triage nurse you have to go through with questions. She responded with "well it couldn't be bananas, because we tell parents to give bananas when there's diarrhea. So if anything you should give more bananas."

    my kids always had bad BM's after oatmeal.  What oatmeal are you using?  some brands have dairy and/or soy in it so i would avoid those.  I would use earths best if anything. 

    First check the ingredients with the oatmeal.&nbs
