What's your standard response?

"When are you going to have more kids?"

I'm sure we've all been there and squirmed through the "when you are you going to start a family" questions that happened after we got married. Not all that fun when you're ttc, but I wasn't surprised when people asked. But now that we have kids - I'm shocked at how many ask us if and when we'll have more. I know they're probably just making small talk so try to be polite. Actually, with having boy/girl twins I have just as many assume that we're done - which those comments can be annoying too. But I'm still a little taken aback when people start asking if we're working on #3. After having a m/c last fall - which not many people know about, it makes me squirm even more. I usually just say something like "we'll see what happens".

So I was wondering what responses you ladies use. Sure, I want to be polite usually, but wouldn't mind putting clever respones in the memory bank.

I usually say something along the lines of.... We'd love to have another baby in the future but I had difficulty getting pregnant with DS so we'll see what happens. Nothing clever really, just the truth. Not many people know about our infertility struggle

Something along the lines of, "We haven't decided how many we want yet - we've still got our hands full with this one!"

We are one and done so I just usually say "ohh, I'm good with just him."

My response was, "Well, you can't always plan these things. We will be thrilled if it does happen sometime in the future." now that I am pregnant with twins I don't get that question. Instead people assume we are done. We may be done, but we are not posit

I just say "we're really busy w A right now, but if we have another that would be great." A lot of my friends only have 1 kid right now so we don't get the question too much.
