Teething or just plain ol' sleep regression?

Hey all! So I am VERY lucky in that about 70% of the time Evie STTN (typically until 5 or 6am then go back down for another hour or two after being fed). Other times she will wake up usually just once around 3 or 4 and stay down till 8. For the past 4 days or so she has been extremely fussy at night. Sometimes she will fall asleep then when placed in her crib wakes right back up and we will need to start the routine all over again. Other times she will wake up at 3 or 4 then not want to go back down. Any experience? As I type this I wonder if she is early for the 4 month wakeful too. She is almost there - although I don't know if it matters that she was 3 weeks early.

Any suggestions or is this just one of those things you ride out?

While babies can start teething around 3 months, it is pretty unusual for it to happen so early. If she isn't showing other signs (chewing on everyone/ everything, drooling/ drool rashes, tugging on ears from pain when you know it isn't an infection...

It's too early for teething, IMO. M started having sleep regression when he was about 3m1w. How does Evie go down for sleep at night? Are you putting her down drowsy but awake? Or is she being rocked or nursed to sleep an

Thanks ladies. The reason why we thought it might be teething is because she is drooling a lot and chewing on her hand even when she is not hungry. However I know babies can do this for months before their first tooth starts to pop in.

The drooling can also be that the glands that produce saliva have kicked in. That usually happens between 2 and 3 months and resembles the drooling associated with teething.

So sorry eponine. My money would be on a new trick or growth spurt like Ruthie mentioned. Hopefully it doesn't last long. Is Evie swaddled?

I too would say that's too early for teething. It was right about at 3.5 months that DS's sleep went to complete shiiit for a month and a half. Once it passed however, he is the best sleeper he's ever been!

C started doing what you are describing about a week before he turned 4 months old and we are still dealing with horrible sleeping patterns. He used to go down, sleep for 6 hours, wake up to eat around 1ish, and then go back to sleep till 7. N

Thanks ladies. She was up a few times last night and up for the day at 630. She just rolled over on her side for the first time last night. I think it is because she is learning new tricks. We swaddle her with AA blankets but she has become quite the esca
