Opinions on a name please

We're Team Green, so this may end up not mattering, but I'd like some opinions please! I have been stuck on the name Elise for quite some time now. But in the back of my mind I worry because our last name begins with "sch" and I fear that it will be too hard to say together. A woman at work said that she liked that because it would make people slow down to say her name. I also think we could call her Ellie or Elle for short and that might help. Please be honest with opinions! I really just wish we could change our last name...it would solve a lot of problems...maybe I'll just make one up...hehe!

Re: Opinions on a name please

  • I do think that could be a tongue tie type name. Could you use it as a middle name? It's really pretty.

I guess it depends on the last name, as I think about it. Elise Schooner, sounds find. Elise Schmidt, that kind of slurs together.  Thos

  • I love the name Elise, but I do agree with you that it might be a problem with your last name.  If you decide to use the name anyway, just call her Elise.  It's a beautiful name and nicknames aren't necessary.

  • I think I'd try to avoid it if that was me, but if you are that in love with the name then use it. As you say, she might always go by Ellie.

  • I really don't see an issue with the combination of first and last name at all.... Elise is a nice name if you like it go with it!

  • That's a tough call. One of those name guideline lists says don't end one name with the same sound that the last name starts with. So Elise Smith would be bad because it is ambiguous as to whether her name is "Elise Smith," "Ellie Smith," or "Elise Mith."

  • I like the name Elise, because I have two friends named Elise who are lovely women!  I really believe that if you love a name you should go for it.  I don't think it's too much of a problem.  If it bothers you or your significant other, you

  • I didn't have a hard time saying it at all. Honestly, how many times in your life do you get called by your first and last name anyway? If you like it, use it!
