Parenting after a Loss

Video Monitor

After my post last week about when to move lo into her own room, thanks to you ladies suggestions we decided to get her out of the RNP and onto a flat surface, which for now is a co-sleeper in our room but I'm hoping since that transition went so well that we can maybe move her into her own room soon.

We have a traditional sound monitor that we use now when lo is down for a nap or when we are still down stairs and she's in bed but mh wants to get a video monitor for when she moves into her own room so we can check on her without running down the hall to her room and possibly waking her up. Rather than just buying any ol' video monitor I thought I'd see what you ladies have and why you do or don't like it. We'd like something with two monitors so we can have one in our room for at night and down stairs during the day and the ability to add an additional camera for future children would be nice but not necessary.

Also thanks again for encouraging me to get her out of the RNP, the transition went much smoother than I expected it to and I am happy we did it now rather than fighting through it later.

Re: Video Monitor

  • We have the Summer Best. It is an older model and still works great after 3 1/2 years. It even survived a trip in the washing machine a few months ago!

If I ever get a new one I would want one that had zoom and pan features.

  • Another thumbs up for the Motorola. It only comes with one screen thingy, but it is rechargeable so you can go cordfree for a couple hours. That's what we do for naps and at night when we are downstairs before we go to bed. We charge it in our room and p

  • I'll actually make a pitch for mine - it's a Samsung. It was very similar to the Motorola in all aspects except it was cheaper for the larger screen than Motorola, which is ultimately why I bought it instead. I really love it. It's rechargeable so I can t
