dh embarrassed by ds

So my h is embarrassed by our 2 yr old DS. DS is getting very independent and has gotten where he thinks he needs a toy if he's at a store. Idk where he gets that BC I very rarely buy him toys.
But DS threw a fit BC I told him no and he begun to cry. So dh had me leave the store and go outside BC he was embarrassed. That also happened yesterday. Now h doesn't want to take DS anywhere BC he's miserable to be around and a brat.
I sah with DS. We have playdates and when I take DS to the store occasionally he acts out but give him a minute and he's over it.
Should I do something else?

    DH use to be the same way. He would totally freak out if our kids got loud for any reason, happy or mad, and he would began to panic and insist we leave or I leave with the our DC. There were plenty of dinners he took DC and walked out the restaurant a

    Sounds like DH is just not used to 2 yr olds! :) Fits are about par for the course. It's just a phase. Maybe try to avoid it in the first place by not walking by the toy department? Distraction works well for us too - I keep things (ahem dum dum pops) in

    Yea I always make sure his belly is full and naps are good. But we were walking by the checkout.

    I would educate your dh on child development a bit. Your child isn't being a brat-he's doing something developmentally appropriate for his age and if he wasn't doing that it could mean something was amiss.

    with that being said I'd set your outing

    I agree with PP that DH needs to know its normal. I like Harvey Karp's description of toddlers being uncivilized little cave people. They don't have social graces yet. Anyone who gets judgy probably doesn't have kids.
