Baby Showers

invite etiquette

So my mom will be sending out the invites soon and I was wondering what the etiquette is for multiple registries. I'm at Amazon and BRU but really I just have stuff at BRU for my older family that won't be using a computer. There isn't enough on there for, say, everyone to buy off of and most of the things that I want are on Amazon.

Is there a way to designate a first and secondary registry? Should I just have her leave it blank and let people call so, for example, Aunt Sue who is 65 gets BRU but my SIL gets Amazon?

I know that most people won't buy off the registries but I figure it's worth a shot =/

Also. I'm doing CD and am wondering if there is any polite way to tell people if they buy me sposies I will not use them. I'm not sure which is more rude... telling people how to spend their money or not using something that was gifted to me.

  • I know a lot of people like Amazon registries, but if I was actually going to your shower I wouldn't shop there. I'd prefer to buy a gift in a store. If I looked at that registry and only saw a couple things, I would probably disregard the registry entire

  • Put both on there. Most people will look at both and if they do decide to buy off the registry they will chose from the one they like the most. I like having more than one option for a registry personally....although typically I never stick to it complete

  • Leave all registry information off the invitation.  If people want to know where you are registered, they will ask.  There is no polite way to tell people what to buy when it comes to diapers.  Like a registry, if they are interested they w

  • i have 2 registries.. one at amazon and another at BRU. I did that because i'm out of state so i figured local people/friends can buy from BRU and out of state friends can buy from amazon. My BFF put both on my shower invitation. I think having multiple d
