AW: I'm back!

Hi ladies! How are you all doing? I have been missing for well over a month with a broken iPad and no internet access. I really missed you ladies and the board.

Cole is now 11 weeks old, and he is doing great (with a few bumps in the road here and there.)

I once posted about his hydronephrosis as diagnosed during my 40 week ultrasound. He had an ultrasound at 2 weeks old to confirm, and it showed severe fluid on the left kidney and mild on the right. We were sent to a specialist in Boston, and he had to endure some absoultely awful tests. Fortunately, they showed no obvious urinary reflux or blockage. We have been allowed to stop the prophylactic antibiotics he was on for over two months, and we just have to follow up with another ultrasound in a few months. The kidneys apparently are draining, although they are both delayed. Hopefully he will grow out of it.

We have also dealt with colic and reflux. Not easy with a one-year-old to take care of as well, but things seem to be getting better. We have him on Zantac for the reflux. Now that the pedi has tripled the dose, it seems to be helping. The colic has improved a bit, although he still cries a lot. I honestly don't like the term colic, and I just think that he is a fussy baby just like my first son was. Mason turned a corner around 6 months and became much easier/happier, and I am hoping that Cole does as well.

We have finally made progress in that I can put him down on his playmat or bouncer for short periods of time.  When he does get in a happy mood, he is full of smiles and coos. The happy moments make you forget about hours of crying.

Breastfeeding has been an constant struggle with supply issues, but we have been fortunate enough not to have to supplement yet. Taking it day by day. We have another weight check in about a week, but he was only 10lbs 12oz at 2 months. I am hoping for big weight gain over this month.

Big brother Mason is still amazing with Cole. At first he basically ignored him, but now he loves to tickle his feet, kiss his head, share his toys, etc. I can tell that they are going to be close friends at only 17 months apart. As challenging as 2 under 2 has been so far, I wouldn't trade it for anything.
