My baby girl, Josie, was born Easter morning at 5:38 weighing 7 lbs 13oz and was 21 inches long. I'm totally in love with this perfect little girl, and she made it in time for me to stay a March Mama
So here's my story - I was having mild contractions every night for about 2 hours for the whole week but they always stopped (the uterus that cried wolf as another poster put it!). Then at 2:30 Sunday morning I woke up to a much more painful contraction than what I had been having. 20 minutes later I had another, then 10 minutes after that, then 5 minutes after that... in less than an hour they were consistently 2 mins apart! I took a quick shower than had to sit on the toilet for about 10 minutes (TMI sorry, but I really was scared I was gonna be one of those people who birthed their baby on the toilet!) So then we woke up DD1, dropped her at my mom's, and headed to the hospital. We got there at 5am and they gave me a room right way (thank goodness!) and when they checked me I was already 8cm. At 5:15 my water broke and I started having such strong contractions that I couldn't really stop my body from pushing on it's own. But the Dr wasn't there yet, so I tried! Luckily he got there quickly and I was able to start pushing. They told me I only pushed for 3 minutes before this little one made her appearance.
It was insanely fast and nothing at all like my first daughter's birth, but it was perfect! I was able to go natural again which was awesome and we got to spend minimal time in the hospital, they let me leave Monday afternoon. We've been getting used to our new family dynamic which has been a definite adjustment but DD1 is doing really well and DD2 is a very good baby so far, nursing and sleeping great, so it's been really good so far!
