Antibiotics and fussiness

DD was prescribed amoxicillin for an ear infection on wednesday and since then she has been over the top fussy.  Our pedi said she might be a little more fussy when she started the medicine but she has been fussier than I expected.  I think she cried (a loud high pitch scream) for 3 hours straight last night.  Is this normal?  Is it her tummy hurting from the antibiotics?  

I just wanted to see if anyone else had the same experience.  I plan on calling the pedi to check to.

    Yes antibiotics can occassionally cause fussiness, usually it is related to GI/stomach upset issues.

     

    Is your baby having diarrhea?  

     

    Have you noticed her having more gas than usual?

    Please please please do not stop the meds. That is how antibiotic resistant bacterial infections happen! Try gripe water or anything else before stopping antibiotics.
