first baby and a little lonesome

Oh I was just so excited to see the part that said "find moms in your area"! I am 13 weeks along with my first baby after a 3 year struggle to concieve. My husband and I live in Dearborn, however, we moved here from out of state 2 years ago so my circle of friends is still kinda small (but they are priceless). I would love to meet other moms to be whether it's your first or your 12th! If anyone is willing or knows of any mommy to be groups, please email me directly at sarahestahl@yahoo.com

    Hi There!

     As depressing as this subject is, I was excited to see that I'm not alone. I too, am 13 weeks. I'm 38 and this is our first child. My immediate family lives up north and it's just me and my husband and a very small circle of friends. Some of which seem to have "disappeared" since I shared the good news with them. It seems like they think I have some sort of disease and that I'm can't do things anymore. I would love to talk more. I really need to find some mom friends.     Hello! I've never been a big internet user, or internet friend maker, but I find myself in a strange point in my life and relieved to not be the only mommy to be feeling this way. My name is Nik,i I am 32 weeks pregnant and just moved here a little less than a year ago. Since the holidays have finished, I think its finally hitting me that I'm going to be becoming a mommy VERY soon and I feel SO unprepared and kind of panicky! I dont really have friends in the area at this point in there life either to kinda, connect with about this. SO, nice to meet you ladies, I hope you and your little babies are doing well! Would love to be informed about any mommy groups and the like.

    Someone suggested to me something called MOPS, I havent yet checked them out but I am thinking about doing so within the next few weeks!

    Hi ladies! I haven't been on the board in forever!  I wanted to let you know that I was in a similar situation.  I moved to MI almost 2 years ago and knew no one- no friends or family.  I joined a MOPs group (Mothers of Preschoolers- you can be a member from conception until your youngest graduates from K).  We're a nice sized group and are all very close. These girls have truly become my MI-family and I don't know what I'd do without them.
    We meet every other friday at St Kenneth (5 mile and Haggerty).  Our next meeting is scheduled for March 1.  If you want to know more about it or just want to come to a meeting let me know! I'd be happy to meet up sometime before that too if anyone wants to have a 'familiar face' at the meeting!

    Wish I would have seen this board sooner!!!

    I live in Dearborn, and since getting pregnant I feel like all my 'friends' have just left me hanging. No one wants to hang out, or anything. Not my loss in the end, theirs.
