Pregnant after 35

Belly growth is getting scary - help!

I swear my belly has doubled in the last couple weeks. Even DH has pointed it out. Baby's growth seems to have kicked into overdrive and I'm getting scared at the rate of growth. My appetite has grown, too. Last month I didn't gain at all because I had norovirus but this month I've gained 8 lbs and caught up. I'm just getting scared about this rate of growth if it keeps up... I still have 13 weeks to go! Does it slow down? Or do I just need to hang on for the ride?

  • When I hit 24/25 weeks, my growth rate started to do the start/stop thing. I'll go a week where it seems like nothing is getting bigger and I'm not really hungry, and then the next week, I'm STARVING and it looks like I get bigger by the minute.

  • I agree that your baby probably is/was going through a growth spurt.  It probably won't continue at that rate, and you'll notice belly growth in fits and spurts.  Unborn babies, like those who are already born, tend to grow in spurts and you'
