Peanut butter question

I'm piggy-backing off of the last post about breakfast and lunch recommendations...

I still haven't given DS any peanut butter or peanut products...I kind of forgot about it, so it hasn't even crossed my mind until now.  Is it ok to give peanut butter or peanut products after 1 year?  I was going to just ask about it at his 15 month check up, but I thought I'd see if any of you ladies knew.

  • We got the green light despite a half sibling with a nut allergy.  DS had no reaction.  I wanted to get past the hurdle, but wasn't sure he would do OK with the texture, so I bought him Jammy Sammys (or something like that) that are PBJ organic

  • DH is allergic to peanuts and nut products.  Our ped said if we really want to try it we can do it in her office just in case.  Well we were at a funeral when DD was about 10.5-11 months old and I was eating a pbj.  I was talking and the ne

At his 9 month appt our pedi said that DS could have anything besides honey, but to be mindful of choking hazards.

He loves peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and hasn't had any reactions to anything so far.

  • I think you'd be fine, but check with your pedi if you're concerned.

I didn't give DD pb until about a month ago for the same reason - I just kind of forgot about it. She LOVES it. So much so that I only give it to her maybe twice a week because
