Period?

I am 5 weeks 3 days postpartum and I started bleeding again. I am not breastfeeding. Is this my period? It's really bright red and it's actually pretty heavy. The heaviness actually has me a little worried. I went through the normal postpartum bleeding, but that stopped 2 weeks ago. My 6 week checkup is next Friday. Should I see my doctor sooner about the bleeding or just wait until my checkup and assume it's my period?

    It could be your period. I had some bleeding start back up after my initial PP bleeding. I asked the doctor about it at
