XP: Colds and Vomitting

My DD has her second cold in 3 weeks. Last one she was able to eat her solid meals with no problem. This time when I give her some food to self feed or puree by spoon she is gagging until she vomits. She is really congested so when it first happened I assumed she was having too much trouble chewing and breathing so she spat up to get rid of it. This is day 3 and it just happened again. Anyone else's LO do this while sick with a cold?

    Pediatrician here -- unfortunately this is a very common thing w/ colds.  When they get really congested they cant breathe and eat at the same time so they will cough/gag/choke on some foods and vomit.

    Yes.  When I took my son to the pediatrician about this she told me that sometimes when they have colds they swallow the mucous and it irritates their stomach.

    Thank you both SO much for these responses! I have been starting to get worried I was over looking something. She is happy and playful all day, just snotty and sick. We have been giving pedialyte and just letting her snack when she can. I am so glad I was
