My boys are seven months old. They has their lower tongue ties snipped. The doctor said they both had a tight upper frenulum but that "in his thirty years, he's never snipped an upper one because he feels it doesn't interfere with feeding or cause speech issues". A friends daughter has speech delays that age believes we're caused by snipping tongue tie too late at age two.
At thus point, I gave noticed sine feeding issues with one if them. He us refusing the bottle and diesnt drain the breast when he feeds. When feeding solids, he is not opening mouth wide and doesn't seem to extend his tongue.
I am wondering if any if you can weigh in with your own experiences. Thanks!
Re: Upper tongue tie question
P has this, and she had a whole ton of feeding/sucking issues, and could never BF due to latch and tone issues.
I know it's "better" to do it when they are younger bc
