Baby Showers

thoughts on breakfast baby showers...

What are your opinions on breakfast baby showers?  Let's say 10 or 11am start?  ...but I think 11am start would be more brunch-ish??

  • Honestly, I think I'd love a shower that started at 10 and was over by 12 or 1.  Then I'd have the rest of my day!

  • Are you opposed to having brunch foods, or do you want strictly "breakfast" items. I personally really love brunch showers, but if you're going to start around 11 I would expect at least some light sandwiches, salads, or other lunch types of foods to g

  • No, not opposed to brunch foods.  I agree that with an 11am start, brunch food would be expected.  I just thought that a breakfast shower would be a little inconvenient for some people because it's early on the weekends and some like to sleep in

  • I would LOVE that.  Why didn't anyone have that idea when I had my showers?!
  • As a guest, I would love this type of shower.  Be in and done by early afternoon, and it doesn't kill the whole day.  It's especially nice if most of the guests live right near the shower location and don't have to leave home super-early to get

  • Mine is at 10am on a Saturday. It was the best time for my hostess as she teaches Saturday afternoon/evening yoga classes. Instead of her having to take a day off work we decided to have it in the morning. works for me!

  • "Sleeping in" to me means 6:45.  I would easily go for a shower at a breakfast time.  If you or the hostess is planning for actual breakfast though, I would start at 9 at the latest and specify "breakfast" on the invites.  Otherwise, if

  • My shower was at 11 am because of the 49ers playing in the Superbowl. We had a buffet spread with a bagel bar, a yogurt bar with granola and fruits, some salads and pastries, and some hot dishes like quiche and an egg bake. It was fine and everyone loved

I've never been to one that started earlier than noon; I wouldn't be happy going to one that started any earlier than 11 am though, honestly. I enjoy taking my time, going my own pace and relaxing in the mornings. Showers that I have been to usually
  • I had a brunch bridal shower and loved it!!!! It was gorgeous and delicious and everyone had a great time. I am secretly wishing baby shower was the same way since it was so yummy and I crave pancakes all the time, but am thrilled for the afternoon shower

  • I like the idea of 11 am brunch. Really it depends on how far people have to travel. If most people are local then 10 could work for breakfast.

Although the ones who have to  travel might not like the idea.  My cousin is ge

  • 1) I love brunch. I would do croissant sandwiches, quiche, salad, pastries, maybe bagels with cream cheese, jelly, butter, lox, tomato and onion, maybe some type of French toast dish or breakfast potatoes, maybe sausage if you can keep it warm. </

  • I would consider a shower that started at 10 a "brunch" shower not breakfast since it will run into the lunch time (of noon).  A true breakfast shower would start at 8 or possibly 9.

I personally love the idea of a brunch shower...o

  • I think it's fine.  Unless you have guests who will be driving out of town, that would force them to leave early in the morning or get a hotel the night before.
