Got my "insurance covered" breast pump today!

I'm so excited!  I have Aetna insurance and it covers a Medela electric double pump at 100%.  I pumped with both of my other pregnancies....nursed my first for almost a year, and my second over a year.  However, that was over a decade ago, and that Medela PIS is long gone. I'm so glad I don't have to pay for another one.

  • Aetna gave me a list of approved durable medical good providers.  I selected https://yummymummystore.com/ since they carried the Medela products that I was familiar with from the last time I pumped.&nb

  • That's great.  I also have Aetna and spoke to them yesterday.  They directed me to the yummy mummy website but I can't order it until I have the baby (covered for 60 days postpartum).  I guess we must have different levels of insurance with

  • If you have Aetna, you should be able to use YummyMummy too I think.  Lucinacare was another one of the providers on the e-mail I got from my nurse case manager about pump providers.  She listed about 6 vendors I could select from.  I&

  • You get that it's not really "free," right?  You're paying insurance premiums for this coverage. And the more women that opt for the "free" pumps the higher the premiums will eventually go?  It's great that they offer it if it helps you out and

Well, I guess that really matters on the type of insurance I have through my employer, right?  Believe it or not, I don't have to pay anything for my insurance.  Anyway, as I put in my original post, I BF and pumped for ove

I've changed the title of my post to be more "politically correct" for your taste.  I was just trying to let others who have posted about problems getting their pumps know that someone actually received one.

  • OP, I really appreciate this post. I have Aetna and was going to tackle this next week. Thanks for the specifics about the Medela and which provider worked for you.
  • I also have Aetna and received my pump about a month ago. I ordered the Medela Freestyle through SunMed medical for an upgrade fee of $125.  The Medela Advanced Double breast pump would have been covered 100% like the original poster mentioned, bu
