My Easter Surprise (Team Green)

I have a son! At 3:45PM on the 31st Torrin Alexander was born via an unplanned csection. He was 7lb 9oz. at 38 weeks, 0 days.

A really quick birth story:

At 11:15PM on Saturday night I felt a strange pop in bed, sat up and told Jason. He said, "So do you want me to start timing something?" lol I knew my water had broken because there was a gush and then a continuous trickle.

Contractions started in the car, I got to the hospital and dilated to a 3 by 3:00 AM, then my progress slowed down. I was given Pitocin and an epidural. Everyone was sleeping except me, I was way too excited!

They tried to get me changing positions but every time the baby's heartrate would drop. By about 2:00 PM I was only a 4 1/2 and starting to show signs of infection. I got a fever, nausea, headache and felt like I had the flu. They gave me antibiotics but I then started vomiting and got worse. I was recommended a csection twice and by the second time I said yes.

The doctor told me I was still a 4 1/2 on the operating table (only dilated 1 1/2 centimeters in almost 13 hours) and that there was no way I would have had a vaginal delivery.

Everything turned out fine, we are both healthy and doing great. I will say that I did feel a lot of pain during the csection and had a really hard time with it. But that's not important anymore, I couldn't be more happy. I love being a mom. To see him turn towards the sound of my voice from across the room, trying to find me, warms my heart like nothing else I've ever experienced.

I wish you all the best of luck and I'm so excited for you guys! It's such an amazing rollercoaster of emotions.
