Suddenly not into finger foods....

Is this even a thing?  I've heard of LO's loosing interest in the bottle and in purees, but not wanting a "solid" food in their mouth... really?

He still eats puffs and things like that, but lately he's been freaking out anytime I try to give him a chunk of what he's eating... like peas, carrots, pears..etc.  (All things he's eaten before!)

Could this be associated with teething, and his gums hurting?  He still eats purees like a champ, and I'm completely A.OK with giving him those, I just thought it was weird to regress in this direction....

Re: Suddenly not into finger foods....

  • My son has gotten pretty picky when it comes to finger foods.  He now will just pick out what he likes and leave what he doesn't like on the tray.  A month ago, he would gobble up anything I gave him, now, not so much.

  • I'm in the same situation...he shakes his head no for pretty much anything I offer him!! And forces himself to gag/throw up if I put it in his mouth. I'm interested to read the responses.

  • I think it is just a phase or it could be teething.  DS would refuse things he loved before and then goes back a week or so later.  Who knows they are discovering and figuring things out so just try every once in awhile and I am sure it will get

  • My LO is doing this too. Suddenly the dogs are getting all her finger foods and I'm having to resort to feeding her purees again. I think it's just a phase.
