Birth Control

My friend went to have her mirena removed today so she can get pregnant and the doctor couldn't find it. She now needs an ultrasound and most likely surgery to get it removed. I am now terrified and seriously considering removing mine. I knew this could happen but pushed it out of my mind. I can't check the strings and I don't really trust the effectiveness since I've read so many pregnancy horror stories. Wondering what birth control others are using??

I wouldn't freak, this happened to my friend too.. she just needed an ultrasound they found it and removed it normally. altho they did go as far as to suggest it fell out and she didn't notice before the ultrasound
