VBAC vs. Csection for second child?

I'm so confused, this is such a huge decision and I can't seem to make up my mind! My first daughter was about 30 hours of labor and i ended up needing an emergency csection. I had dilated to 7 and then started regressing. Im pretty small narrow hips but not tiny, and my baby was 9 lbs. I'm ready to schedule a c section because Im afriad of the 1 chance of rupture but I know every pregnancy is different so I feel like I'm "giving up" too easily. What if this labor and delivery were going to be way different this time around? Any experienced or knowledgeable mommies with help or advice? I need to decide asap and tell my dr. Baby will be here in 8 short weeks!!

This is a vey personal decision. Have you talked to your doctor about it? This was the first thing I brought up with my doc at my 8w appt, because there was no question in my mind that I wanted to try a VBAC and I needed to make sure he was supportive, wh

  • I had a successful VBAC delivery with DD, and it was AMAZING!!

For me it was the right choice for a number of reasons. #1 was that my OB felt I was an excellent candidate. I had gone into labor on my own with DS, progressed well, and only needed a

  • I just had an appointment with my OB today. He said ruptures are as low as only 1 in 200.

It's a real personal choice. My labour was 6 hours. By the time I hit L&D, I was 8 cms and diagnosed breech. I know my next labour will probably b

  • The advantage is you aren't being cut open and having major surgery!!

I have been very adamant and committed to trying for a vbac from the beginning..we just moved to another state and I'm still going to try a vaginal delivery, even with a two ho

  • Hmmm, ok.  I could do all of that after my c-section last time (although I didn't have any other children then).  I was just asking!

  • I am 34 weeks and am opting for a RCS. My doctor told me I could try a VBAC but I am opting for the c/s because - 1- I am 40 years old and have been classified as high risk due to diabetes and high blood pressure (even though I have not had any problem

  • This really is a personal decision.  I'm choosing to VBAC because I had a terrible recovery from my c-section, and I believe that I was sectioned unnecessarily last time. (my c-section wasn't actually an emergency, it just happened quickly. No one

  • I am feeling this same way!! With my DS i had 26 hours of induced labor at 41 weeks then had an emergency c section after dialating to a 6 because his heart rate was in the 50s. I read everything I can find on the pros and cons of vbac vs repeat c section
